So, you're interested in my work, eh? Well, let me break it down for you.
I know a fair amount about various technologies and tools. If you know about this sort of thing, you might call me a front-end XHTML/CSS developer. I regularly make use of PHP, Javascript, XML, and design software, like Photoshop and Illustrator. I have a graduate degree in information architecture, so that tends to help too. A better question might be what don't I do. Well, I'm not much of a designer. I can do visual designs, logos and such, but you'd probably be better off going to a proper designer for that and then bringing me the mockups to build into a glorious website.
I specialize in building editorially driven sites. An editorially driven site is one that is updated very frequently and is often text-based, like a newspaper, blog, or review website. Depending on the site, it might be updated anywhere from weekly to hourly and it usually needs to be editted by people with little-to-no web training. That's where I come in. I've worked with assorted publishing platforms, but I mostly make use of Movable Type. As a reference point, Movable Type is the engine behind many large sites such as The Washington Post, Gothamist, and Huffington Post.
I come up with clever website architecture and strategy. You might say I have a knack for optimizing websites and networks of websites to build traffic and generate revenue. I've worked with entertainment industry clients to make this happen for networks as large as 250+ websites. For more information on this, say hi.
My availability. I'm not going to lie to you, I'm stretched pretty thin. I'm contracted fulltime for the foreseeable future, but try me anyway, who knows, maybe you'll steal me away with your charms. Or chocolate. Try chocolate.
